Race 2 - Indianapolis

Race 2 - Indianapolis

Pole Winner: #18 Kyle Busch
Race Winner:#5 Kasey Kahne

Majority Pick: #18 Kyle Busch

Pool Standings:
1. Sam Holloway -8
2. asleep at the wheel - 15
2. G Money - 15
2. Hot Rod - 15
5. Gas Holes - 22

Well the Brickyard 400 turned into the Scrapyard 400 in the last 50 laps of the race. The majority pick was Kyle Busch, and he looked poised for the win, until Truex Jr. wiped him out on the restart. Since Truex Jr. took out the two best cars, that left it to Brad Keselowski and Kasey Kahne to battle back and forth trying to let the other one win. I mean really, who else was screaming at these two bone heads on the last couple of restarts for picking the top line?! The bottom had the push at the end of the race. Just ask Trevor Bayne. NASCAR gave Kahne a gift at the end by holding that caution flag for a few seconds. I know they were running out of daylight, but it seemed a little obvious.

On another note, I have to give Jimmy Johnson kudos for making it one hell of a race at the end. Going 3 wide at 200 mph and trying to stick it in the corner, all while your car is blowing up?! That sir, takes some kahunas.

Let's get ready for this week at Pocono. I hope it's another wild one!

Sorry for the delay in the postings. But we are now updated! The first race of the 2nd half looked like Martin Truex Jr. was going to make a statement on the mile and a half track, but wasn't able to get the win. Denny Hamlin crossed the line in 1st and did one hell of a burnout to celebrate! Let's get ready for Eldora mid-week and then the Brickyard this weekend. It's going to be a good week of racing.

Race 18 - Kentucky

Race 18 - Kentucky

Pole Winner: #18 Kyle Busch
Race Winner:#78 Martin Truex Jr.

Majority Pick: #19 Daniel Suarez

Pool Standings:
1. Jay G - 229   $$$
2.G Money -229  $$
3. Garrett Hodges -242  $
4. Loretta - 257
5. Cheap Shot - 260

What a race to end the first half of our season! There was a tie for the win and the top 3 in the standings take home some green this week. It was a hell of a race for Martin Truex Jr, that almost didn't end up like he hoped. He had lapped all but 8 cars, and had a commanding lead until the caution came out with 3 to go. On old tires, he was able to hold off the surge from the young guns behind him. Was really good to see such a good race at Kentucky.

Let's get ready for the second half of the season. I hope it's going to be another wild one! Remember to have sheets to me by Thursday. You can call me to meet up and turn in your sheets, or email them to me if you want. Email me if you have any questions. Thanks to all that played the first half, and I hope you return to play again!

Also, Kryptonite (last place), you won the Race Pool Headache Award and will receive a free entry for the 2nd half of the season.

Sorry for the delay in updates, I had limited internet connection this past week. Daytona was a crash fest this time, but still a good race. I hated to see Dale Jr. walk away from Daytona with such a bad finish. Standings are all over the place going into the last race. Good luck to the top contenders going into the final week!
