Daytona has not disappointed this year. We saw two wild races with lots of excitement, as well as two first time Cup race winners! This week wasn't a last lap pass either. Christopher Bell put the hammer down in this race, took the lead away from veteran Joey Logano and drove away. Coach Gibbs had a hell of a weekend with his grandson winning the Xfinity race with his grandson driving and then the Cup race with Bell. 

It looked like Chase Elliott and Hamlin had the cars to beat most of the race, but they got caught in traffic after the last pit stop and were involved in a stack-up where Chase got punted off the track by Hamlin. Hamlin came away pretty clean and salvaged a solid third place finish. Drivers leave Daytona to make a short trip to Homestead this week. Watch that 4 car at this track, he loves it!

What a long and wild night the Daytona 500 turned out to be! Early on, before the red flag, the guys out there were very aggressive and caused one of the big ones just before the rain delay. It took out some really fast race cars and changed the rest of the race. After the rain delay, Denny Hamlin came out and dominated by winning Stages 1 and 2. But it wasn't enough at the end. With the 22 car leading on the last lap and his teammate in the 2 behind him, it got crazy. The 2 got a push from the 34 and the line he was bringing which jolted him forward. It looked like the 2 would make a pass on the 22 until they made contact and would take out a lot of drivers at the end. The 34 of Michael McDowell skated through the wreck, along with Chase Elliott and Austin Dillon and were in a drag race until the caution came out. NASCAR scoring had McDowell in the lead at the time of the caution, and since the white flag had flown, the race was over. It was a very exciting Speed Week, and I'm looking forward to the Daytona Road Course next week!

Welcome to Race Pool 2021 Season 1 of 2!

Hello everyone, Thanks for joining Season 1 of 2 of the race pool for the 2021 NASCAR season! Last year was a total bust due to COVID, so we just cancelled the 2020 season and rolled it over to 2021. I'm excited about this year and I'm expecting some good racing! There's a lot of new drivers and driver/team changes this year, so it should be fun to see how this goes.

The payout is as follows for the 1st half of the season:

1st - $250
2nd - $110
Last - Free entry for Season 2 of the 2021 Season
